you were convicted before the law changed. If you comitted the crime before the law changed and then went to court after the law changed you should have been grandfathered in under the old law. But the judges will rule the way they want. That is the bottom line.

All crimes and convictions are based on the law as of the time of the crime, so the law on May 23rd could even be different from the law that applies.

well, i think this is only valid for legalist continental systems, not to the common law system
