For me talent wise Inter has got to be sitting at the top of Europe. They will surely get out of group and if you notice they are getting better and better. ManU is simply on fire, Cristiano Ronaldo has got to be the best winger in the world, and Rooney is coming back to form.Bayern is the huge underestimation of Europe. They have so many talents and 2 goals in 6 minutes against BL gave people a flash of how dangerous they are. Once Lukas and Owen Hargreaves come back they will just get better. Chelsea might look great now, but the point remain their superstars are not up to par. Yes Drogba is great rite now and so is Lampard, but the bottom line is Drogba is still their supporting player and you cannot win all the way down to May based on supporting players. Come around Jan, Drogba will slip back to his usual good but not great form and then Chelsea will have Lampard alone while Sheva-Ballack and Co try to keep up. Barca=Dead AC Milan's Gattuso-Pirlo combo finally is starting to slow.

I agree... with you about Inter...I mean CRESPO, Cruz and Ibra are in incredible form!!!
I also think Chelsea are a really strong competitors. Drogba is constantly outdoing himself and when Sheva isn't doing all that well then some other player willl help the team win. I agree that Chelsea will not get through with Drogba alone but I believe that Chelsea is a really strong team with many possible goal-scorers. They just need to make a plan with their goalie because scoring goals is not all that makes you win...
Lyon are also looking really strong...Juninho impresses me more and more each time. I do however think that Man United are stronger contenders than Lyon...i just hope that they have the ability to go all the way because their performances are up and down...their performance is not consistent enough!

Sorry to disagree with you but Inter for me are no hopers. Mancini is struggling to keep his job week by week. The contenders this year will be Man Utd,Chelsea,Arsenal and Bayern. The rest have problems. Real -stuttering, Barca- same and Messi and Saviola are out long term. Milan- Gattuso out and players too old. Lyon-always the bridesmaid. Watch for CSKA Moscow as dark horses.

Well given that they can sell him on and add to their team with a wealth of new talent that is probably better for long term stability, then Inter are actually quite smart in letting him go.
If you want a better understanding of why they are so willing to get him off their books, just compare it to what AC Milan did with Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva last season in selling them off to PSG. It helped them free up significant fund and overall the deal earn AC Milan 170 million Euros (transfer fee + the projected wages of the two players for their remaining contracts). With FFP coming in, this proves to be a very wise move for Milan who earn the opportunity to rebuild with a look ahead for the future (proven with the rise of El Sharaawy).
Now Inter have Sneijder on their books for a season more. They could match his demands, but in all honesty, his demands are too high for a player that has been in fact a touch overrated recently. Reasons for that being 1) too many injuries. 2) too inconsistent in form. 3) Already in his late 20's, turning 29 in a few month so he's not exactly a long term option for them to keep performing at his best. Add all those factors together and you really question, how much of an influence can he really make on the Inter side over the next few seasons if they are to give him an extension and would it really be worth the money? I don't think he'd be worth a 200K+ per week deal over the next possibly 3 or more years, Inter are better off freeing up space in their wage department to gain a few better and younger players.
This is long term stability that would reflect them positively not only in the financial sense, but most likely in the footballing sense as well.
Enough credit doesn't go to these Italian teams like Milan and Inter who have made great moves like this in order to reach long term stability for their clubs. Getting rid of one or two declining world class players now can offer them so much more in the future. Milan did it with Thiago Silva and Ibrah. Inter did it with Maicon and are now continuing with Sneijder.

ppl always/usually ignore one name..when preparing such list..LYON..i dont know why..it was just a technical error from thier coach in last knockout game against Milan that give them a nightmare defeat.they could have won..they were better than barcelona or arsenal by any standards.but since they are FRENCH nobody give them respect they deserve lol.
chelsea is unfortunate when it comes to CL.they have a formidable squad but LUCK matters a lot along with gameplay.same goes to INTER as well.people do underestimate bayren munich, its just bcoz they dont have ballack in thr midfield engine.Manu yeah..they can do it this time but team with overrated player like rooney always have serious problems when comes to winning BIG games..(just like in recent WC)
