I think it's because kids are no longer into paper products - they are into electronic products. Technology has changed everything!

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH????

THE TRUTH IS - kids today don't want to go out and EARN money to buy comic books the way we did when we were kids - they'd rather go to some website where they can read a comic online for free without paying for it (stealing) because someone who DID pay for it took it home and scanned it with their computer so they can give it away for free and rip off the comic industries for millions of dollars, thus making comic books a thing of the past.....

Why did you think that Marvel and DC comics have been releasing the rights to so many of their comic characters to be made into movies? They're losing out so much money to the Internet and people abusing them by giving away the comics online that they have to make money any way they can.....

now theres tv and video games, the world is to small nowadays for treeforts in which to read comic books, therefor they lose the value and Dad's don't have enough time to build thier kids treeforts, also there are less comic book stores and any series that used to to produce comic books now produce tv shows like batman begins its alot easier than printing comic books and it pays better.

Because most of them are VERY badly written.

Which is why I hate the direction the X-Men have been going ever since Chris Claremont left.

And don't even get me started on those god-awful, live action movie versions of comic books. The X-Movies were atrocious.

i agree with the video games aspect, but also children have been left behind... comics ceased being made for them years ago... and as far as why comics arent as popular in general, the companies (marvel especially) got too greedy and turned off most of the older fans...

It's because kids don't like to read. they like to sit on thier buts and watch TV. They don't have to move. My generation is the laziest of all time, I, personally, love comic books!
