More details would be helpful, how old she is and what the issue is. If she's not used to the crib, put her in there during the day with the lights on while you put away some clothes, tidy up. After a few days of doing that, put her there with a soft animal, put some music on in the dark, and rub her back, talk softy to her, and tell her that it's nap time, to go to sleep. Try this until she falls asleep. It will be a lot of work, but remember if that's what your goal is, you have to stick to it.

Crying it out doesn't work for a lot of people. Personally, I think a helpless infant needs love, not "tough love." If it worked for some, great, but please don't give this as a one-size-fits-all solution.
The No-Cry Sleep Solution, by Elizabeth Pantley. This book saved my sanity and my 5 month old went from sleeping on my chest for 1 hour at a time to sleeping in his crib all night. I get tons more sleep now. Pantley offers a host of possible solutions, all based on your baby's needs and your needs. You make changes gradually and if you stick to it, it works b/c you put together a plan after assessing your needs.
Good luck!

sleeping with your baby dduring the first few months is okay for the both of you. a baby knowing and receiving as much love as possible is very important for the baby. Positive results. what you can do about the crib situation is place the baby in her crib when she/he has fallen asleep, place the baby in the crib as you would place her/he in the position the baby normally sleeps when sleeping with you. if necessary, sometimes the sound of music or something that sounds soothing for the baby also helps the baby sleep for several hours.I dont believe you should place the baby in a crib forcing the baby to cry, but if push comes to shove then placing a baby in a crib with a musical toy or anything soothing is still okay. dont ever forget to place a baby monitor , this is very important , baby monitors will keep you updated on the babys progress. goodluck.

You need to start early. Make sure when you put her in there that she is still awake, tired but not to tired after a warm bath and bottle. Most babies like mobiles and a night light so get those things going and before you know it they will be asleep. After a while this will become routine and you won't have any problems getting them to go to bed. Well this worked for us with our daughter. Good Luck.

i did the same thing with my first one, because we were both more comfortable together and it was easier to feed him and calm him down when he woke up at night. now that he has a baby sister, i got him cool spongebob sheets and he sleeps in his own bed. try the tough love, feed her, change her and put her to sleep and then move her to the crib. check often and if she half-wakes up, just give her the bottle or pacifier and keep your hand on her-don`t pick her up until she falls asleep.

I let my son play in his crib, so that he could get used to it. Pretty soon that is were he wanted to sleep.

You just have to put them in it and let them cry it out. Eventually they'll get tired and go to sleep! It may take a few days of doing that until she gives in.
