If you want a cheap fishnet shirt, buy a normal pair of fishnets, cut out the apex and cut off the toes, voila, a shirt. It looks good under a black tank top. You can also arrange safety pins in sort of a lace-up pattern (criss-cross) up and down both sides of a band shirt. There's really no end to the way you can personalize with safety pins.

For the treatment of that shirt, I'd get a rivet gun and some leather, and modify the neck to a lace up- keyhole design. Costs very little and you'll be astonished how many uses a rivet gun has. You may be asked to modify other peoples clothes for a bit of extra cash.

In general: If you're artistically talented, you can draw on plain shirts with designs and slogans that appeal to you. You can put the lower halves of the legs of fishnet tights with a short sleeved shirt. You can learn to sew. That'll save more money than anything. They sell vinyl in fabric stores- and it's cheap. Also, if you're comfortable modifying clothes, then your thrift store options are much more open.

You also just have to keep your eyes open. I have two leather skirts which i bought for five dollars each, just because I bought them in spring, when sensible people put away their leather. You might consider shopping in the women's department, for more extravagant coats, or velvet shirts. Both of these can usually be bought at post-season clearance, as early as february.

Make it fit over your hand then cut a hole in the end of the sleeve so you can fit your thumb through, cut a design into the front and wear a solid or striped shirt underneath to make a cool little thingy on the front. Cut your jeans, destroy them, put paint on them, bleach, dye, snip, anything to make them look...well, you know like, cool. Make a glove into a cool one, cut all the tips of the fingers off, get boots, destroy the boots. Make your own T-shirts by buying plain black t's and buying that fabric crud from a craft store. Best of luck

hmm. Well i suggest going into the craft section of walmart, i have seen some silver studs there, you can add them to your clothes, and you could also buy patches at a sewing store, possibly a CD place. you know of your favorite bands/whatever else. Buy some eyeliner. Its like 99 cents if you get cheap wet&wild kind. You could also go to the dollar store. they have crosses there and you could buy some of those. I suggest you also get an interesting haircut, dye it black. since its right after halloween hit up Value Village and get some chains. I saw some there like 3 weeks ago, I dont know they might have that stuff on sale. You could also try hitting up old costume/burlesque places. They often sell their old costumes.

Slash the shirt up and rip off any pockets and put a few safety pins through it and stencil a skull on the back.

Aww...I thought where you said "wal-mart clothes" were kinda cute lol...I know, I'm weird but cut them, mix and match then a lil bit, add designs and signs, whatever floats your boat or what makes you happy, and you can always get clothes elsewhere other than Wal-mart.
