My parents tell me I should get it checked out becuase they say that I might have a radiatior leek. However my boyfriend says if I had radiator leek there would be fluid on the ground. But as of tonight he has had to put anit-freeze in three times and I am getting worried. Are there any car technicians that can help me?

Okay in response to some answers... There is no water on the passenger side floor- the car is a 2001 Mistubishi Galant- I have only been driving it for six months i assume the hoses have not been changed in a while. - I do not smell anything strange nor do i notice white somke comming from the engine.

The best way to avoid getting riped off is to act like you know what your talking about even if you don't. Or just take someone with you. But you probably just have a busted hose. It shouldn't be much.

Cooling systems can leak from places not easily seen. You'd have to look all around the engine, radiator and under car for signs of a leak. It could be consuming water in the engine. But an internal engine water leak usually shows up as really poor running or overheating. An internal water leak can get into the oil. Is the oil level magically increasing, or is oil milkshake looking?
Is the car running right? Is the carpet wet? (heater leak) Is the temp gauge saying the engine is hot? Any white steam or white smoke from exhaust? How old are the hoses? Anything worked on recently? What kind of car is this?

Take it to the shop and get it fixed. If you want to have a look, start the car, open the hood and look around the sides of the radiator. If it is leaking from there, you will need a new radiator. Also, look at the hoses. If you have a leak from the hoses, you will have to replace those. I have experienced problems with both of these before.

The coolant is going somewhere. It is either leaking, or is being burnt off. Have the cooling system pressure tested by a qualified technician. Many coolant leaks are small enough that you can not see a puddle.
You do not say what type of vehicle it is, but if the water pump is driven by the timing belt, and the water pump is leaking, the coolant could be evaporating and you will never see a puddle!

Yes you should get a presure test done on your radiator and this will show a leak then determine where it is by looking and deduction it could be a leaking gasket If it is a presure test will show by inspection of your plugs and top of piston a show of water or antifreeze. Also if you remove the radiator cap just after starting you could see bubbles in the fluid this indicates a leaking gasket or head. In short get a mechanic to do the tests it is cheaper than a siezed engine

Water contained in the oil may also take position as a spread of froth on the oil fill cap. Are you seeing any steam coming from everywhere if you're driving? that would want to describe why there aren't any puddles Are there any puddles forming contained in the passenger compartment? (if it really is the case, it is your heater center...soreness contained in the *** to change) Wait....once you're saying water, do you mean purely ordinary water, or do you mean water mixed with coolant? because you're literally not meant to easily use water for that. it really is a very last-ditch emergency degree, not something you should do automatically. because water boils at a decrease temperature than a water coolant/antifreeze (similar ingredient) blend, it isn't as helpful at cooling the engine. So sure, which could be a issue.

when the car is cold it may not be leaking but it has to be going somewhere. do you smell it inside the car? if yes then heater core has a leak. no smell there then could be leaking into engine is it smoking white? then engine is burning it off. check your oil see if it is going there. it has to be going somewhere maybe when it's heated up you will see a leak or notice exhaust is extremely white. bottom line have it check you might have some serious problems. most likely do of some sort

If your radiator and water pump are not leaking, your radiator cap is ok, and your heater is not leaking in the passenger compartment, then you have a head gasket leak. Put some head gasket sealer in your radiator and follow the instructions before your head gasket is completely toast. If you let it go too long the leak repair will not adhere and you will require a new head gasket ($$$$$).

Either the radiator is leaking or you have a bad water pump seal that is leaking. you did'nt say where the leak may be. But you really need to have it checked out before you find yourself stuck on the side of the road overheating.

Absolutely get it checked out by a reliable mechanic. You probably do have a radiator leak and you may find yourself stranded somewhere if the radiator goes completely. You can usually find one at an auto scrapyard if you can't afford a new one.....
