You know, the kind of rebate where you have to cut out the UPC symbol and serial number, then wait 8-12 weeks for a $50 rebate? I had a card returned today that said I did not get my rebate because I sent in the wrong thing. I hate rebates!

Yeah, hate rebates too. I can't count how many times I've purchased something because it had a rebate, only to send it in, wait several months, and then receive a letter in the mail that makes me feel like an idiot because it states I can't follow directions (when I know for a fact that I filled out and sent in all the right information).

confident! Rebates suck! the reason they do it that way is they set the money aside for the rebate in an pastime bearing account. They make lower back the money that they provide out in the advertising and deny rebates to a undeniable proportion of shoppers for "blunders" which enables the producer harm even. it is an problematic spoof and there somewhat could be some law approximately rebate practices with the aid of fact they're distinctly unethical.

Yeah, but they're counting on that. As an impulse you pay the full price thinking you're paying the minus the rebate price and then you forget to send it in or you screw up. It's just another market ploy.

A lot of people forget to send them in. Thats why they have them. I'm still waiting for 3 rebates from BestBuy from 1 year ago.No more Best Buy for me.

I prefer direct discounts. But when they give rebates, they can count on a percentage of people not turning them in.

I absolutely hate them.

I would rather pay a few dollars more than put up with that.

I would send it back in, and tell them that the next letter will be from my lawyer if they don't pay up. They are just counting on you to give up and go away.

Yes they suck. You have to pay the full price up front, mail them all these receipts, etc., wait weeks, then get SOME money back.
