This is actually close to the description I use to illustrate the basic difference between Republicans and Democrats:
Democrats will help feed the people fish.
Republicans will teach people to fish.
This philosophy is kind of a touchstone on how to think about the parties. Democrats are all about the individual, providing for one person at a time, reading to them. Republicans want to help the larger class of people, thus will provide teaching to help the people make their own way.

Yes and on welfare with socialized medicine. All at the expense of the taxpayer. That's you and me. Sometimes a helping hand hinders people from seeking their real potential. Currently unemployment is at an all time low. With the democrats running the country we will see a big fluctuation in taxes, welfare and special interest groups. Just the thought of Hilary Clinton for president makes my skin crawl....
