enough with all that hype about how tough this confrence is. If there's ever a playoff, their overrated teams would be demolished by all the other confrence champions around the nation. The SEC fans should be thankful that there ain't a playoff right now.

don't even mention the props from sports illustrated mag cuz those fools also picked west virginia over louisville, projected Texas and boise state to be in the fiesta bowl and they have been picking the panthers to win the superbowl every year since 03.

Let us have a playoff then. So we all can see how overrated the SEC is.

Would it be exposed?

you serious? all that satitistics about best high school players and NFL players?!!!! what does that have to do with SEC being a better confrence? You have to take your mouth onto the field and play with other confrences to claim your title. That's why a playoff would competely trash all your garbage argument.

The SEC would be exposed if their was a playoff system, cold hard facts follow.

1. they have played five top 50 teams in the BCS out of conference and are 2-3 against them.
2. they have played 7 DivII opponents.
3. Recent reports having schools in the SEC cancel their scheduled games with Louisville for upcoming seasons, even though most of them were on neutral ground.

The reason people think the SEC is so great is because of name recognition, and thats really about it. Every year people say that if USC played in the SEC they would lose 3 games, this year they beat your conference champion. The SEC has nothing but name recognition for their teams and if they think that during the regular season they could step out of conference with their top teams and beat someone I think they should try it. The SEC sucks and so do all their fans, of course the south has been bitter since 1865.

Ok. Who do teams in other confernces play? Junior colleges are on most of there schedules. The SEC has more contenders in the BCS than any other conference year in and year out. There players make bigger impacts at the next level. They all play harder scedules and every team is a contender. Its not USC and next year the same team over and over. Ever team is strong. If other teams played in the SEC they would be exposed. Just because you are a fan from another conference dont trash talk ours. Its a great conference with great teams and most of them show you whos better at the next level in the NFL. You can go on and on about this team is strong and the NFL does not matter but it does. I mean the goal of these players is to get to the NFL and once there to be good. Peyton Mannning is one of the best NFL players today and where did he come from not USC. I would love to have a playoff and then you would shut up and go home untill next season. Week in and week out the SEC is the strongest conference because when we play other conferences we dominate.

Toughness isn't proved in a playoff; it's proved in the regular season. If you don't have a top-notch program, you're not going to make a playoff anyway, so it doesn't matter if you're an SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12 fan or whatever, if you don't play when it counts, you won't find yourself in a playoff, so your argument against the SEC is FREAKING STUPID! If they were to have a playoff and a couple of SEC teams were to qualify for it as often as anyone else, it would only SOLIDIFY most claims of their superiority based on the level of success in a playoff.

No and you need to learn how to spell "Conference." Also there is no need to say conference after SEC since that stands for Southeastern Conference.

What happened when Tennessee played Cal? What happened when LSU played Arizonia? What happened when Auburn played Washington State?

The only reason they don't have a playoff is to give a team outside of the Big Ten and SEC a chance to win a championship.

You ask some of the most uneducated questions.

Absolutely. USC exposed the SEC in the very first game of the season. Florida should have lost to South Carolina, Tenn sucks, UGA tore up Auburn and "who beat UGA in the Sugar Bowl last year"...."WVU". Arkansas is over rated. LSU is aweful. California, USC, Rutgers, Ohio State, Michigan, West Virginia, Louisville, Wake Forest, Maryland, Boston College, BYU, Boise State, Notre Dame, Texas, Wisconsin, and many many more would slaughter anybody in the SEC this year. A bunch of babies crying about how tough their schedules are because everybody in the SEC is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Good. Whatever, everybody in the SEC is terrible its just they only play each other for the most part so we really dont get to see how bad they are until they play non-conference opponents, such as USC.

So if there was a playoff, our cotton pickin friends down south would be home in time for harvest, because they would all be out in the first round.

That would never work because there would only be SEC teams left to play each other. SEC teams would stomp the **** out of the Little 10 and Crappy East teams. So the answer to your question could possibly be yes.... the SEC would expose itself as the best conference in college football.

Overrated teams? The best HS football in America per-capita (as far as producing NFL talent) is the deep south. These states include Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisianna. It's not necessarily a particular team when they mention the strength of the conference, it's the depth of the teams from top to bottom. No conference has a top 4 like the SEC. Florida, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn. Teams at the bottom of the conference like Kentucky, would have a great shot at winning a conference title in some of the weak conferences out west. I won't name any conference names. The answer is, no they would not be exposed, especially if you factor in the talent level of the conference from top to bottom. Lastly, year in and year out the SEC produces more NFL talent than any conference. And this isn't only because they have 12 teams, but when you factor in the total NFL players from a particular conf and compare it to the total teams from that Conf, the SEC also has the best ratio.

No. Other conferences might be, but not the SEC, which would get 3-4 teams in in a 16-team playoff.

The SEC is not at all overrated. People often think it is because there are no undefeated teams. The reason teams don't make it out of this conference undefeated is simple: it's too strong.

Just look at Florida's schedule this year: Home against Tennessee, then two weeks later, they have a stretch of this...home against 'Bama, home against LSU, at Auburn, and then neutral site against UGA. That is just BRUTAL.

Look at the talent: Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina. I guarantee you that if there was a playoff, these teams would match up well against most teams from the Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, Big East, or any other conference. It's the toughest, most competitive conference made up with the best athletes in America.

No, the other conferences would be exposed because they aren't used to this type of football. I think we should have a playoff though because every year IS different and I hate that people's opinions are the reasons teams win championships, there are 12 conferences do a 16 team playoff with the champs of the 12 and then 4 at-large teams
