Um, was it Marlene Dietrich? For some reason, she seems to fit the bill . . .

If not, then I'm going with Katherine Hepburn, like everyone else.

P.S. These questions are fun! I feel like I'm on some GLBT-themed Jeopardy!

Tallulah Bankhead was notoriously bisexual..scandalous for her period. She was from a very wealthy southern family, became a star in Hollywood, chased mostly female stars. Reportedly had affairs with Joan Crawford and many others...but who knows...all gossip as far as I am concerned. . Kate Hepburn wore slacks most of the time, but was anything BUT bisexual. She had a life long affair with Spencer Tracey (a married Roman Catholic who could not get a divorce from his wife).
