" Flying
1. The dreamer's basic ambition, drive, goals, and dreams. If the dreamer is flying like a bird, then he can accomplish his goals almost on his own. If the dreamer is flying in an airplane, or other sort of airship, he will need assistance. If the weather around him is turbulent, the path to success will be rocky and strewn with obstacles. If it is clear, the path ahead should be straightforward and easily traveled. If others are flying with him, he needs to gather the support of others in order to attain his goal."

To dream you are flying can symbolize several things. It really depends on how your dream plays out..such as if you are running from someone or something then start to fly, or if you try to fly and can't..if you don't land..so on and so forth.
Anyway in general it typically symbolizes freedom, maybe overcoming or breaking away from a certain situation. Start paying attention to your surroundings more in you're dream. You'll have a better dream interp. that way. Since you are aware you're flying meaning your also aware that your dreaming, this is called lucid dreaming, where you are in control.

Outer body experiences. We do it all the time in dreams but we usually don't remember. It can be dangerous because sometimes people don't come back to their body. (die in their sleep) Basically the soul leaves the gross body to enjoy a particular experience. It is a type of illusion. We are also in illusion in our waking state because we are in Maya or the land of illusion. This world is temporary and full of illusion and misery. If we want reality we have to remove the veils of illusion. The easiest and quickest way to do that is to chant the Maha mantra Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. For details on how to do this and what it is go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com/Chanting_hare_krishna.htm

Metaphor of personal power in dreams. Flying to escape a pursuer suggests confidence in one’s ability to avoid, or outmaneuver, fears and problems in our life. Difficulty gaining elevation (we have to “bounce” off the ground, or fly around obstacles), suggests doubts about our ability to reach a destination. Fears of landing reflect uncertainty about the future; we don’t know “where we will land.” Dreams of soaring unfettered above the Earth reflect feelings of empowerment. We are confident in our ability to “reach any destination,” and feel “on top of the world.”

flying
Transcendence over your challenges. To dream you are flying means a freedom (or a wish for freedom) from the limitations of your own mental, emotional, and physical challenges - freedom that is available by connecting with your inner joy, love, and Spirit.
