I'm going thru this right now, the guy is straight; we always talked at work to pass time, but now that I quit my job, he's the only one that calls me to small talk and to make him a cd. He knows Im gay and I know he's straight, but my feelings for him is there, and I dont dare to do anything cuz I will lose him as a friend. He tells jokes at me that Im like his big brother/sister. I showed him a different side of gay people, that not every homosexual is a flamoyantly Fag and respects me, so I remind myself that he's a good friend that asks for my help if he needs it, its rare to turn a straight guy to a gay guy. Since I know he would never read this forum I would like to say, "I love you very much Robert, I'll be there for you." How can I ignore feelings?

Always a difficult situation. Are you aware of his sexual orientation? Are you friendly, meaning you chit chat and laugh with each other?
If so, perhaps you could ask if he'd like to hit a movie sometime... that's pretty non-threatening and is done by friends all the time.
If you're not chatty, then start out by saying something like "I'm hungry, want to grab a bite?" This will at least give you a view of whether you can chat and laugh or not.
Then next, ask if he wants to hit a movie.
Start slow... if it seems that he has feelings, too... awkward glances, awkward words, etc... then it may be time to move onwards and ask him if he likes you?
The best of luck! Dating can be a real bi-atch!

Demetrius's answer is terrible!
Be yourself.
and yes, if u feel like he may have the same feelings, u should definitly tell him. When it comes to liking someone, there is no right or wrong. Also, asking around might not neccesarily work because if he has not previously had gay relationships, he may just be confused about his emotions. He very well could still have feelings towards you.

The true problem is that you are a guy with a crush on a guy! Need I say more?
But to answer you question - No you should not tell him you like him, in fact you should not like him. Why don't you just be normal and start liking females?

If hes gay too then go for it, if not it might freak the guy out a little bit, thats what happened to me last year. Now I just kinda ignore the kid that liked me, but its not that bad.

If he is a friend, I would find out if he is gay or how he feels about it before you tell him anything. if you don't know him at all, make friends first

Listen, life is long in our perspective. You should be as open and honest about yourself as possible. A true friend may not like it, but understands. That is the tough part about life, being you.

do not tell him. You're liable to get punched in the face if he is not gay
