Yes, even if a baby dies in utero, it needs to come out. Even with babies that are lost very early on, if the body does not expel it on it's own, doctors will have to remove it. A full term still born baby is way too big for the body to expel itself, so normally a doctor will induce labor to deliver the still born baby. If a baby dies in utero and it isn't removed from the mother's body, the mother will get an infection and get very, very sick.

Yes, the baby is born, but they are born dead (so to speak). If the pregnancy was far along most doctors will choose to induce labor to remove the baby- personally, if that were to happen to me, I would request to be put completely under and have a caesarian. Going through labor for a baby that had already died would be way too much for my sanity.

Yes thus the term still born. You still deliver a still born baby. I believe the term still born or still birth comes at the 12 week mark when they no longer consider it a miscarriage.

Yes. Labor and delivery still occur. I like to say still born, but born still. And actually it's considered a still birth after 20 weeks gestation. I feel for any parent who has to go through that.

A still born baby means that it was dead in the womb or died during the birth. So yes. It is born.

Yes it is born. Many moms choose to say it was born "sleeping" or "still".

Yes. Stillborn babies are called fetal deaths, not infant deaths, as they never take a breath. Even if you are at 40 weeks, and the baby dies, you will go through a labor and delivery for it.

Yes. Usually labor will start on its own when the baby dies but if it doesn't labor may have to be induced. It is also considered a stillbirth if the baby dies during labor.
