African native Manute Bol was the tallest player at 7'7'' to play in the NBA before the arrival of Romanian Gheorghe Muresan. Manute, which means "special blessing," played for a number of NBA teams such as the Washington Bullets (Now known as the Wizards), Golden State Warriors, and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Bol was famous for his shot blocking ability as well as his penchant for hoisting up three-point shots during an era when it was uncommon for centers to do so.

After he had left the NBA, Bol has been reported to have participated at ice skating and boxing events.

Hope this was helpful.
