Grocery Store Job Interview?

I have a job interview tomorrow at Safeway.I know what to wear and to arrive early.But what kinds of questions are they going to ask me?

They may be simply asking questions to find out if you'll not exhibit behavior that wouldn't fit in. Are you normal? Do you have a temper problem? Will you bend over backwards to help customers? They will ask them in less subtle ways than direct questions. They may ask you rude questions to see if you can take it calmly. They may present situation to see how you will handle them.
Most importantly, you need to speak up and let them know you understand the importance of you doing a good job. You understand that the business is selling groceries, so you will either really help customers find things, or stock shelves so the fresh stuff is out in time or you will check them out faster.
You have to show you understand that if you're a grouch they will shop somewhere else.
Therefore your every action is to contribute to the bottom line -- the profit -- of the store.

Since you have an interview, you will most likely be hired. While I can't tell you specific questions you will be asked, the questions will revolve around schedule flexibility, willingness to do different things, and ability to get along with others. Don't worry. Just work your butt off, prove yourself, and the respect will follow. From someone who has worked in a grocery store for 16 years, I still love my job and love the people I work with.

Where a nice shirt, dark pants, make sure they are fresh, ironed. Tie is optional.

Probably ask what experienc eyou've had in reatail, if you can run a cash register, heath problems that might keep you from stocking. They look for flexible hours, so if you really need the job be as open with your avialblity as possible. They always need nights, weekends, mornings.

Eveyrone wants 8 to 5 monday to friday so you have to be different.

It really depends on what position you are applying for? If you are applying for a cachier position, then they will want to know if you have any customer service experience, and if you know how to count money. If you are applying for a Mgr. position, then they will more than likely ask you if you have any prior Mgr. experience. If you are applying for a sacker position, then just tell them that you know not to put the eggs in the bottom of the bag, unless it's the only item in the bag. Hope this info. has helped you. I work at Vons (same as Safeway) and even though I didn't really have a interview(since my bro worked there before) I just recommend that you be friendly, and they'll like you.
