Check out the toilets in remote rest stops. Sometimes they have really cool propane powered ones that explode your waste. Ask the guide to explain the system if there is one.

Meet new people by either taking photos of people walking their dogs or buying candy bars for long haul drivers.

I get mental candy at rest stops that I can play over in my head which keeps me refreshed to drive another hundred miles or so.

At this one rest stop just before you get to Monteagle, TN, you can stop to smell the roses for a bit. In this case I'm referring to stopping and looking at the incredible scenery of mountains and a large river. If your lucky you can see a large train winding along the river. Quite a sight.

Usually get out of the car and stretch. If I need to, I use the restroom. Then, I take a deep breath and dread getting back into the car.
