Now that's the part of Christmas that gets me going. I love seeing a happy response to thoughtful gift. It really is all in the giving!

My freind cried when I gave her a thoughtful birthday gift, 'cos her family show no sign of knowing who she is when they give her stuff (it's usually foodstuffs she's allergic to). So yeah, it's a good feeling. That said, you're receiving gratitude/gratification for the act. We humans seldom do something without some kind of payoff.

I love to give presents. Watching them open them is so fun ( my kids anyway ). I just hate getting in all that traffic.

Absolutely, listen to your heart. The kick in the As& is when you are asked to reduce the amount you are giving because everyone else has not saved up for the holday.

Nothing wrong with receiving, but it is great when you can get joy from giving.

I'd rather give - you get back more from the happy faces than you'd ever get in a gift.
