I think this is how, here is an example:

Thompson, Frank. The Alamo: A Cultural History. Dallas, Texas: Taylor Trade Publishing,
2001.

The author, Thompson, talks about the Alamo and the victory of the Alamo. The author also discusses about the “countless” poems, plays, novels, and movies about the Alamo. The author does not only discusses the Alamo as another simple event in history, but as an ongoing saga. The author also says that the Alamo has been a church, a fort, an inspiration, a joke, a hearth of patriotic virtue, and a “hotbed” of racial conflict.
