I don't know if the % is that high but many articles tell you that it is easier to transmit aids through anal intercourse, hence gays have a higher %
This articles says
"Transmission through anal sex has been reported to be 10 times higher than by vaginal sex."
This holds true with heterosexuals who have anal intercourse with women as a form of controception. This is another reason why it is spreading so fast in africa.

I don't know the number, but 86% is way higher than the actual number.
And if you believe in the Bible, then Romans 1 (vs 26-27) clearly describes how your God *does* make people gay.

A quick internet search yielded multiple studies showing that in the US, UK and Canada, the percentage of homosexual men with AIDS is less than 20%. On the other hand, the disease is epidemic among heterosexuals, women and people in third world countries. As of 2004, women made up nearly 50% of AIDS cases worldwide (http://www.usaid.gov/our_work/global_health/aids/TechAreas/women/index.html) thanks to domestic violence and sexual assaults/sexual violence perpetrated by heterosexual males. In short, straight men, unlike gay men, rape women and spread the disease and also contribute to cases where the mother passes the disease to her child.

I think the statistic is wrong. But, I've heard that AIDS is most easily transmitted among gay men followed by heterosexuals and lesbians respectively. I think it has to do with how easily genital secretions are exchanged.
