(Dunno, but weather's s'posed to be good there in the fall...)

Try the Old Farmer's Almanac - they have long-range forecasts.

Winters are always long & cool there - but how cool is the question. Indications are maybe not so cool at all compared with what you are used to - that because of the current El Niño conditions in the equatorial Pacific.

As mentioned in the CPC discussion:

http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_advisory/index.html

El Niño winters are often warmer and drier than normal in western to central Canada. The Aleutian Low becomes very strong & persistent and sends warmer than normal air over your region. Rather than having a deep persistent trof aloft with many storm systems developing in it, you tend to have a weaker flow aloft and fewer storm systems.

If you want this from a Canadian source (probably better for you):

http://www.msc-smc.ec.gc.ca/education/elnino/canadian/region/index_mean_e.cfm?region=all

It is a moderate El Niño at best now - some people saying 1986-7 is a good analog season - during which Calgary was 5° above normal:

I am not a big fan of analog prediction because even if something such as sea surface temperatures are very similar, other important factors can be different. Yet look at the graph and you'll see that 5 of 7 El Niños were warmer than normal.
