make sure you exfloliate VERY well before you put the tanning lotion on. the surface dead skin cell is what makes the color uneven and flaky. i use it that way and never have a problem. and i've heard many compliments on my "fake" tan. anyway, you should give it a try.

EASY!!! you can make fake tans last for a long time if you take care of your skin!! that means moisturize!!! and keep moisturizing!! the reason they start too look weird and groos is that your skin is beginning to flake off ( everyones skin does that) but by moisutrizing you prolong the life of your skin and give it a much needed bath of moisture!!! so slap on your fake tan!! save your skin and moisturise!!!

If your talking about those self-tanning lotions or spray on's. Stop using! There is no way to stop them from smearing or flaking. I gave up years ago. A waste of money. I've tried all of them. I stick with the tanning beds now. I get my money's worth from them.
Take care.
