click start
click run
type msconfig
click startup tab
uncheck the items you dont want to start
click apply
reboot
click in the box that appears after reboot.

Depends on the program and what version of Windows you are using. Sometimes you will see a shortcut to the program in the STARTUP folder and removing it from there will work. Usually the configuration for the individual program will have a selection to launch at startup, which can be toggled off. If it is programs that you do not know and do not remember ever installing then it sounds like it could be a form of spyware and a removal tool like spybot or adaware might be needed to remove them.

Well, you could check if theres any programs listed in the startup part in your start menu and delete them, or if they arent. Go into the prefrences of each 1 of the programs that are starting up that you dont want, and theres probably an option that says "startup on windows" make sure you disable that and that should do the trick!

You need to go into the Preferences or Options tab of each program and uncheck start when Windows Start or Quick Launch.

in each program go to the properties, and uncheck the box that says AutoStart when Windows starts. it will be on the properties menue somewhere.
