Ask your guidance counselor, he/she will give you papers that your doctor has to fill out when you get a physical. THEN you can get your working papers.
My first job sucked. It was a summer job at a nursing home type thing... The residents were patients and they were very rude to me. The ones that weren't all there in the head scared the hell out of me.

Depends on where you live. In FL, my home state, you can work at 14, but you do have to have a work permit and then you can only work like 10 hours a week and not past like 7 or 8 pm or something like that. Grocery stores are about the only places that you can get a job.
Ask around and see how you go about getting a permit in your area. Someone at your high school probably knows.

Legally you are allowed to work at 14, but you have to get a work permit from your Career Counselor at school. Also, you may have a hard time finding a company to hire you at such a young age. Most employers want their employees to be at least 16. And High School students have limits to the number of hours allowed to work and how late they can work. So make sure you find out what all your laws say in your state. Also, you may be paid lower than minimum wage. Some states have a lower minimum for employees under 16. Good Luck!

Not gonna lie, the only place you could really get a job is at your local McDonalds. I was hired there at the tender age of 14 and have been there ever since (I'm 19 now). Not a bad experience, yet not a great one either. My suggestion is that you work there a couple years and get a feel for working, then move on to a bigger and better job, if it's even available.
Good luck.

It's mostly true. To work at a place that most people consider work you need a permit. But you can do odd jobs for other people without a permit. You can also make stuff (medicine bags) and sell it. There's all kinds of stuff you can do if you think about it.

In some states you can work when you are 14 (I live in Maryland and I've been working since I was 14). Even if you weren't, anyone in high school has to get a permit to work from their guidence counselors.

You can work at 14, however it's extremely hard to find a job, as most places set the lowest age at 16 due to insurance costs

Yes, but your choices are limited as well as when and how many hours you can work. When I was 14 I got a job on the weekends cleaning hotel rooms and I delivered newspapers.
