Can corporations put patents on genes? What are the ethical implications on attempting to "own" what billions of years of evolution have wrought? Do you own your own genome?

Factory farms use antibiotics and growth hormones in animals to increase the size and "safety" of the meat, even though it has been proven that most contaminants in meat come from improper handling. These antibiotics and growth hormones are very similar to the ones that humans take for illness, etc and have been rumored to lessen the effectiveness of antibiotics when we really need to use them and the hormones may encourage the onset of cancer. This is especially true of the elderly and the very young. With other processes such as irradiation, there is no need for these types of additives in meat. Factory farms should be required to list all chemicals, antibiotics, and hormones that they use in their meat.

About the babies, I think its not good to choose what you want your baby to look like, or otherwise, we'll have too many super-perfect clone babies around. Part of being human is that your flaws make you perfect.

Hi. One concern is that although science may learn how to assemble genes for instance, it may not understand how to stop what they have made.
