The country's Belgium, the Netherlands ( Holland) and Luxembourg .
We where invaded because they needed the pace to maneuver, make the move through the ardennes with the left wing of the German army and also to lure the English and France army's into Belgium so that they where surrounded .

The first thrust was through Luxemberg and SE Belgium through the rugged Ardennes Forest. The attack on Holland was more of a diversion to keep the BEF and French pre-occupied, while the main thrust was via the Ardennes.
