I came across an HR consultant who has put his designation as "Vertical Specialist (IT & ITES)". I do not know the meaning of this term and hence the question

It means that this person comes from an HR background and is expertise is in human resource consulting in IT (Information Technology) and ITeS (IT enabled Services).

This means that he has interacted a lot with IT companies and knows what talent to look for in this business, how much to pay, how to retain and motivate employees in this field and train people to work efficiently. In other words, his DOMAIN EXPERTISE is IT and ITeS.

For example one could be a marketing consultant with Vertical Specialist in FMCG or Retail. This means that the person is an expert at marketing FMCG and Retail products.

A persons who has specialised in one function of one type of organisation is known as vertical specialist. THE HR consultant who is designated as veticlal specialist is a specialist in HR function of IT and ITES industry.

* BA/BS or equivalent from a leading institution.
* 4+ years of advertising sales/marketing or operations experience.
* 2+ years experience in financial analysis from a leading investment bank, consultancy or Fortune 500 company preferred.
* Proven understanding of online and offline advertising marketplace.
* Superior track record of academic performance.
* Extensive Excel financial modeling experience preferred.
* Experience writing SQL queries a plus.
* Experience working with international marketplace preferred.
* Language skills preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of strategic and competitive issues.
