The liberal mantra has been "Bush lied people died." The public voices of the far left are heard not from the military, the business world, or government, but from comedians and entertainers like Jon Stewart and Al Franken. These people have no credibility; they make jokes for a living.

Now comes the hard part. The libs are in power. Have we heard any real ideas? Are jokes and SNL skits going to win in Iraq, provide jobs, keep the economy strong? The lack of intellectual thought from the left is disturbing. Feel free to prove me wrong by telling me what changes the left will make to better OUR country.

I give dinodino credit for giving some answers.

None on Iraq, which is the most important issue concerning the safety and stability of the world, but there were some minor solutions to minor problems. For the record: I am a conservative before I am a republican. I have disagreed with Bush and Rush on a number of occasions. (spending, immigration, not enough troops in Iraq etc)

To the rest of you, I see I'm not alone in my frustration.

Anthony... your "ideas" really aren't ideas.
1. Increasing minimum wage actually hurts the average worker by making it harder for small business. This COSTS the workers jobs as well as increases inflation.
2. "Peace in Iraq." This is an idea? What should we snap our fingers for that to happen?
3. "Honest government." I'm actually with you on this one. However I don't know how to expect this from the party of Clinton.(Impeached for perjury) He WAS impeached, look it up.
4. Free college loans. Nothing is free. The tax payer pays this.
4. Healthcare for the poor. The poor are already driving the cost of healthcare sky high! People who can't pay, don't. Illegals flood the borders from mexico to receive healthcare and the taxpayer foots the bill.

These ideas are all good in theory until you ask the simple question.... HOW? In thus lies the problem of liberalism.

Democrats have no real ideas to offer, their best ploy was to vote to go to Iraq when the public opinion was in favor of it and then to turn on Bush when the public favor turned against the war. I have for many years wondered what democrats stand for, but as they rarely tell the public anything more then we are anti-republican it is difficult to find out exactly what they stand for. If the republicans are for stem cell research then the democrats will come out against it and so on. Partisan politics at its worst. They all need to figure out why they want to continue dragging this country thru the mud at each election cycle, I would personally vote for a qualified democrat if one ever decided to take a legitimate stance on an issue that the caucus didn't tell them to take (Lieberman).

We have plenty of ideas, You aren't going to hear about them listening to Rush Limbaugh and watching SNL. Actually if you ever listened to Al Franken's radio show, you would hear a lot of the ideas...he has intellegent guests and democratic politicians who speak seriously about a lot of issues..

In the first hundred hours of the democratic congress they plan to:

Put new rules in place to "break the link between lobbyists and legislation. Enact all the recommendations made by the commission that investigated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Cut the interest rate on student loans in half. Allow the government to negotiate directly with the pharmaceutical companies for lower drug prices for Medicare patients.

Broaden the types of stem cell research allowed with federal funds --

Reinstall "Pay as you go," meaning no increasing the deficit, whether the issue is middle class tax relief, health care or some other priority. There will be more as we get closer to January.

But I suspect you really are aren't interested in hearing any democratic ideas -- and probably think Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter and other republican "entertainers" have credibility.

What a turnaround. I was about to give up on this site due to all the Bush bashing but now all you guys are coming out and making some great statements.

Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope something good comes out of all these election results. There's a lot of moderate Democrats that got elected who are Republicans at heart.

Nancy P will be very busy with that bunch in the House of Reps.

The American people disagree with you.

Raising the minimum wage, peace in Iraq, honest gov't, interest free college loans, healthcare for the poor....are all good ideas.

How could Democrats offer any ideas when they were practically non existent as far as the Republicans are concerned. Every time an idea was offered, it was struck down by the Republicans in control.

Lets see what happens starting this January.

Dems ideas are far beyond your capability of understanding. Why do they need to try to explain strategy to Republican idiots.
Dems are saviors, not moneystealing power and war mungers.

They haven't had an original idea since JFK was in office.
But I suspect JFK wouldn't be a Democrat as it is today.
