Funny thing about this site (Yahoo Answers) everyone wants to help and tell you what they think is the right answer and I commend almost everyone, they do a heck of a job. But some questions you find yourself sitting here wanting to help and lend a hand to someone who needs it, so here I extend mine to you-
My fellow mother, look at that little face you created, watch that smile and think about the giggles and laughs and most of all that wide-ear to ear smile (yeah you know which one I am talking about) that will appear on that face when she opens up that present that took you 20 minutes to wrap, and watch her play with the box and paper it was wrapped in. Let that image aid you this season in finding the joy your looking to help you get in the 'season'.
I hope these words from my heart to yours helps, even a tiny bit.
I wish you all the luck and blessings with you little one. May your family be blessed for many many of years to come with the wonderful gift that is your child.

I had open heart surgery when I was a very young child myself. It was heart wrenching for my parents, but they got through it thinking positive that the best would come out of it. We were told, I would be lucky to live until 16, and guess what, I'm turning 41 in a week!
Don't get happy for the holidays, get happy because your little one needs your support, your positive vibes...
Please remember that your thoughts, and emotions shape your reality. Try to think and feel that everything will be okay for you and your baby, and you know what, it will be.
Please don't feel any guilt, the kidney being damaged is not your fault. A lot of parents feel responsible for such birth defects, but reality is it's not under our control.
Please go easy on yourself. Blessings, Rani

go for walks, think about all the good days ahead. when you go to the hospital ask a few friends or close family to come with you and bring a bunch of arts and crafts with you to the hospital and make stuff to put in her room after the surgery, it will make the time go by fast and it will keep you ocupied ans your mind off of things a bit.

Remind yourself everyday that you're blessed to be a mother. There are many people out there who can't have children!

Reassurance is key. Just know that you have tons of friends and family keeping you and your daughter in their prayers. I'll keep her in my prayers as well :-)
