They were used in '87 - '95 full size trucks, Blazers, Jimmys and Suburbans (vans also). Some will also have a TBI 305, so make sure you have a 350. Old body style trucks ('87 pickups, and '87 - '91 Blazer, Jimmy and Suburban) will have V belt accessories, and the new body style trucks will have serpentine belts.
I hope this help you

TBI as in Throttle Body Injection came out in 1986 on trucks. TPI or Tuned Port Injection came out in 1985 on camaros and firebirds. newer trucks use SMPFI or Sequential Multi Port Fuel Injection, it resides under the intake and looks like a spider. TBI is the way to go offroad, for all out performance go with the TPI set up.

I'm assuming what blew up was the motor and not the injection system right? So you can use a 350 from anything made before 1996 as thats when the heads changed. All you got to do at the most is swap out your heads with another block(maybe) or just use the heads on the block and bolt your injection system on top of it. AutoZone sells engines so check with them .They come with a warranty. They sell them in a variety of ways from short to long block depending on what you can use off your old motor. Or you can go to gmpartsdirect.com and get a motor with all new block, rods, crank, cam etc,etc and prices aren't bad either

Wow! This question and these answers sound just like a slice of dialogue from My Cousin Vinny. There was a time, now long gone, when just about every boy growing up in America could take a jalopy apart and put it back together, just as they could build a respectably competitive "racing car" to enter in the local Soap Box Derby.

If your refferring to Tpi or Tuned port injection, they started in
about 1982. Stay away from the cross-fire engine they had
alot of trouble with them.
