What i got when i had my daughter was a lot of cards with money in them. I also got some small stuffed animals and a ton of clothes. Just find out what they need or want for their new baby. Most parents just like the cards cuz they can go in the baby book as remembering the day he was born.

The best thing I got for my son who was born just over 3 months ago was diapers. If its possible find out what kind she prefers and buy one or two packages. You will be amazed how much she likes them. I cant believe how nice it was to not have to go buy diapers right of the bat.

A coupon for you to babysit while they either sleep or go out for the night...A new baby in the house, with or without other kids is a big deal...Or tell them the coupon is for you to help out around the hosue weather it's doing the dishies or making some food to put in the frezzer...You don't have to go and buy anything if you really don't want to just be there and help them out....Trust me I had a few friends do that for me and it helped me out alot...

Give a box of diapers for the baby, the baby has gotten so many gifts. Give the mom something like a dinner when you visit. or maybe something that she can make to help her get some rest.

Anything almost... blankets, clothes, maybe a gift card that is themed with a baby. I know Target carries a gift card that says Congrats! and with a newborn pictured.

Considering how we are suffering from eating junk. Get him a book on "Juicing." You will really show him that you care for both him and his son. Why not a juicer or something like that.
