Festus for sure. Chester was a whiner and always in a bad mood. The interaction between Festus and Doc made the show.

My other half was just asked this and he said he like Festus because Chester was more of a serious person.

ive always liked festus. you never knew what was going to happen with him or what family members he would run into. always thought the chester character played by dennis weaver was too serious for the show. festus always provided comedy releif:).

Festus, oh he was so funny. With the "well, I d a tall ya if'n you- in would just sit a spell and let me come over cheer" I just loved the whole thing.

i like festus better,because he was funnier,especially when he and doc gets into it.
