It is because they don't have anything else to do, rather than doing something they just complain, but apparently they did do something which is evident in this past election.

In very broad terms, liberals attack the President because he is a conservative whose philosophy typically is at odds with liberalism.

For example, consider the 4th Ammendment:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

The President wanted to secretly conduct wiretaps on citizens when the govt felt it was necessary and do it without a court order. This with the stated "good" goal of protecting the population. However, a liberal would likely argue that conducting wiretaps without a court order violated the 4th Ammendment's assertion that, "no warrants issued without probable cause and describing the thing to be searched." In this case, the government is searching through people's phone records or whatever. A liberal would say, "You cant do this action because it violates the Constitution." Even though the stated goal is "good" a liberal would argue that means dont justify the ends if a citizen's rights are violated.

Many of Bush's policies, to liberals, violate some sort of civil liberty. that is why they frequently attack him. A conservative at this point would likely claim that liberals are "soft on terror" because they wont do what's "necessary". A liberal would counter that they want to protect the liberties granted to all citizens by the Constitution.

Not only Liberals attack the president. I am liberal. I hate G.W.B. yet many conservatives, honest people. All politicians have to break some promises Bush is a pathological liar. He seems to take delight in the more outrages the lie, because can . The only thing America needs protecting from is Bush/Cheney....MARY

Someone has to before he finishes destroying this Country!

If he were really trying to protect America at all cost's, why are we not pushing harder in Afghanistan (Where the real War on terror should be) and why are we not doing something about that nut in charge of North Korea and the nuts in Iran?

Whether you Conservatives like to hear it or not...Bush going to Iraq was to avenge his Daddy!

Then why did he have to lie to get us into Iraq? If his intentions are not noble, Why not tell us the truth from the beginning?

Because he was more interested in giving taxpayer money to Haliburton and his other friends.

Don't believe me think about this: After "Mission Accomplished" why did we get Haliburton to bring American civilians over there to drive trucks for $100,000 a year when they could have hired Iraqis at a fraction of the cost?

...at all costs? Urinating on the Constitution of the United States & becoming a Fasist in the process is is one of several reasons that Americans should question our Decider-in-Chief.

What I don't get is why liberals weren't able to provide the president some constructive advice. Either the president wouldn't listen or the liberals didn't want to work with him.

Only the historians will be able to sort it out in time.

You said it yourself, He is trying to protect America, trying is not doing, he was in charge on 9/11. And at all costs, look at the amount of money spent and lives lost. And you don't have to be a liberal to dislike Bush. I am liberal in some views, conservative in others, but Vietnam was a mistake and so is Iraq.

Liberals have no ideas.

All they have is comedians like Jon Stewart and Al Franken. Its much easier to bash people and point out mistakes than it is to come up with solutions. I find it strange how people actually fell for the b.s. this election. The dems came up with no ideas other than their usual "blame Bush" propaganda. That may make for a fun SNL skit but it won't win in Iraq and it won't keep the economy going strong.
