short of laying it all out for the sun to dry it (if ya got sun)....I'd hit up that guy that sold it to ya. If you have a good De-humidifier and can contain the wood in a room with it, that'll dry em out. Good luck!

First of all you paid to much, second yes you should go back, especially if this is a reputable chain that sold it to you.
Given that any wood takes a long time to dry, cure, season,,, even Pine,,, you may be very accurate in your assessment of "What you GOT"
If you think it's a fair price and can't get any satisfaction, think about how much you'll enjoy it next year. I also suggest that I've, chopped, split, carried, and burned oak, nearly fresh cut, by using kindling. If you're talking about indoors, for a fire place or stove, I'd avoid chemicals.
The fact that it's only firewood makes it no less valuable to you, and certainly a customer should always be right, given the state of the economy in 2006.

What ever you do, DO NOT use lighter fluid in the house. That (for reasons that should be pretty obvious is not a wise idea). Try a large fire starter log with each fire. Unless the wood is extremely wet, this should dry it out enough to burn.

I always found oak a bit hard to start anyway, but if it's wet, good luck! I'd probably load the fireplace with a lot of easy-burning pine, then throw on a log of the oak one at a time.

If you live in NC, I have a cord of maple already seasoned I'd be willing to give you, just to haul it off. :) It's not oak, but it will still make fire!
