Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry is a really good read. Catch 22 is great. Slaughterhouse 5 is really good. I liked Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but you might be too young for it.

Try reading anything by Terry Pratchett, particularly his Discworld novels. The first is called "The Colour of Magic". I'd also recommend "Good Omens", which was written by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, and is a comedy about the apocalypse that left me rolling on the floor. Another good author to try is Douglas Adams and his Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (which is far superior to the movie).

Hit the Road by Caroline B. Cooney is great.
I'd also recommend the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison that begins with Angus, thongs, and full frontal snogging.

Hey I'm 17 and my 15 year-old-sister and I can't get enough of the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by Louis Rennison... the books are the hilarious (mis)adventures of a 15-year-old British girl and her problems with her sister, parents, cats, and, of course, boys.
