i watch a tv show (like the exorcist or something) and then during commercials they're like
"stay tuned, for ways to prevent cancer, tonight at 11"

why do we have to wait for ways to prevent cancer?

isn't it important? do i have to wait 4 hours?

they should break in as a special report!! no matter what show is on...yes, even the exorcist.

what do u think?

I think if they really had something to say that was that relevant and truthful they would interrupt and say it then.

No it is just a teaser so you will watch their pathetic newscast. It is like the winter when they say "Killer storm will block most roads causing starvation and deadly accidents. Details tonight at 11." And we know that when they finally tell the specifics it is "chance of flurries tomorrow."

I think that it's a ridiculous idea. Can you imagine how many times the network would be breaking into a tv show for "special" news? I don't think that it's going to make much difference to you if you wait for a few hours to get the late breaking news on new ways to prevent cancer.
Now, if a tornado were approaching my town, I'd expect the network to break into the program.

Its a "hook" {marketing ploy} to make you watch the ie:
next show or news later that night
