divorce than if one of the partys is severly brain damaged where there is no other choice but to live out their life in a "home",,where he can get the medical care...but he doesn't know what is going on???? I have a hard time understanding that...because the brain damage person does not know what is going on and the other spouse was forced to leave FOR A GOOD REASON;...IT IS BETTER THAN THE TWO regular people getting a divorce cuz they just could not get along!!! Do you agree NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO LIVE WITH A SEVERLY BRAIN DAMAGED SPOUSE...that would be hell!!! ( but some people think ..."You should stay"...but notice their husband is NOT brain damaged?........so who are they to judge????Plus it is none of their business anyway...Plus i have gone through this horrific episode with my girlfriend...and i am a girl...she was able to obtain an annulment, because of his condition...

As you have stated noone should judge that has not been thru it, so, I think that is exactly what you should tell these people. I feel for the two of you especially her having to go thru this and having to make a decision like that, I am sure it was not easy on her, or you for that matter.

Well I can tell you first hand that I went threw something like that myself. I was with a man for 5 years, during that time we had a great relationship. In the last 2 years of it, he became very sick, we didn't know why. Then a year later we found out why and by then it was too late. He had brain cancer. He tried to get me to leave him and find someone else. I didn't do that, I stayed with him until the day that he passed away and buried him. I still didn't get involved with any one else until over a year later.

People will be judgemental no matter what. A person needs to do what they have to in order to get buy. Just ignore others opinions. In the grand scheme of life this won't matter in a few years anyway. I have come to the conclusion that it is not my business what others think of me and as a result I have grown much happier.

Because marriage vows say 'til death do us part, and in sickness and in health. They don't say, till I get tired of you, or until you are inconvenient for me.
Honestly if you love someone, you don't want to divorce them ever. But if they are a vegetable, you feel free to move on once it's clear they aren't going to come out of it.
