You should wash everything that will touch the baby, including blankets, towels ect...
Here is a list of a few things to bring:
3-4 pairs of panties (you may soil them with a number of different fluids, or stay longer than you expect)
2 supportive nursing bras
2 nightgowns (You will be more comfortable wearing your own, just make sure you don't mind if they get soiled)
a toothbrush and toothpaste
a brush (there will be lots of pictures)
hair ties (you will not want it in your face during labor)
a camera
a CD player and soothing music (if you want it)
some slippers (You don't really want to walk on those floors barefoot)
an extra outfit for when you leave (don't expect to wear the same size as before you were pregnant. I would recommend maybe a small maternity outfit)
shampoo and conditioner (you will definitely want a shower, and you will like using your own soap)
2 pairs of socks
slip on shoes to leave in (you may be too sore to bend down and tie)
deodorant!
And for baby:
3-4 nightgowns
an outfit to bring him/her home in
2-3 receiving blankets
don't forget the car seat!
a pack of diapers
some wipes
4-5 pairs of socks
This is just a list off the top of my head, I think I just about covered it though.... I know, it sounds like a ton of stuff, but you will be happy to have it all.... Good Luck! :)

Being about 33 weeks along in your pregnancy, you should get your bag packed and ready to go. Also get the baby clothes washed and put up. Heres what to bring:
1. One set of infant clothes, infant hat and warm blanket for when you leave the hospital.
2. Bring the baby carrier so you can have it buckled in the back seat when you two get out of the hospital.
3. For you, bring at least one pack of Maxi Pads as you will need them.
4. Bring about 4 pair of underwear just in case you have an accidental over flow.
5. Keep using the hospital gowns so you dont have to use yours until you go home.
6. Bring one pair of sweat pants and either a sweat shirt or t-shirt to use for going home. The sweat pants will be a lot more confortable then using jeans and ectra.
7. Bring some slippers to wear while in the hospital.
8. Bring your tooth brush and tooth paste, hair brush and deoderant.
9. Bring some street shoes for when you leave the hospital.
10. If you feel up to it, you can bring portable or battery operated games, books to read, and ectra, but you will probably do a lot of sleeping after you have the baby. You can ask the nurses to give you reading materials on taking care of infants from birth up to read too.
11. You can bring something like hard candy to eat between meals if your doctor allows it.
It sounds like a lot, but it isnt, trust me, I've been there before when I had my daughter and did not have all of the things I listed. You will need them.
It is better to be ready now because when the labor comes or if your water breaks, you will not have time to get the things packed. You will be heading to the hospital right away. Keep your packed bag next to the door so it can ge grabbed up as you walk out the door.
Good Luck :-)

Congratulations! Please wash all baby bottles, bedding & clothing before use. Be sure to read all labels on cleaning supplies to ensure safety & health of a newborn. Dreft is a very good brand for laundering & Method are a good cleaning supply company. Planned parenthood & hospitals or anyone who has had a baby should help you with your bag. It differs for alot of people. Some mommies need to bring their own pillows, robe, birthing ball, toiletries, clean maternity clothes, comfortable shoes, socks or slippers, baby layette, something to focus on during labor, etc. Use a suitcase w/wheels & a long handle to attach your pillows to. Check with your hospital they may have rules & guidelines. Also have a babyseat installed in your vehicle & know how to properly use it. Take a few dry runs with a doll for practice. I would get everything ready now because it is unknown when the little darlings will want to appear any where from 36-41 weeks.

The hospital stay is so short that you won't need a lot and the hospital provides quite a bit. In the dark ages, we packed our bag early. I doesn't have to be anything fancy. I'd bring shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, nursing bra, underwear, treat yourself to a nice bathroom and slippers, then you'll need to decide what you want to wear home, but someone else could bring that later once you know how big or small you are. Bring a book or something to busy yourself with, though you probably won't need it. Yes, the baby clothes should all be washed and use something like Dre ft--the baby could be allergic to the dyes, etc. Don't forget the baby will need a car seat to go home. For the baby, a little one piece sleeper with feet, a receiving blanket and a bigger blanket for the car seat and a little hooded jacket or sweatshirt and some infant size Huggies, though the hospital will give you some. God bless. Enjoy that baby.

Yes wash all your new and used baby clothes now and use a sensitive soap fragrance free also. pack two nights gowns that open in the front if you plan to breast feed pack some comfy pants (pj bottoms) and also a couple of large t shirts. about 6 pairs of cotton panties and socks. at least two nursing bras and an outfit for your baby if diapers if your hospital doesn't supply them. bottles if needed and wipes and of course don't forget the extra thick maxi pads for you at least one bag unless your hospital supplies them also. you may want to bring a walk men or an mp3 player some cards and reading material for you and your support. you will also need to pack a bathroom bag that contains all your shampoo conditioner and toiletries. don't forget some massage oil so you can get a rub down while in labor. You should pack this bag now as you are not that far and some women go in labor early. I wish you luck and a healthy happy birthing experience. take care and good luck to you and your family :)

You should really pack your bags now and put them into the car. I packed my bags when I was about 8 months or so. You should take your own personal undies, b/c the ones they give you suck!, a few nice warm night gowns, maybe some soothing music to listen to while you labor, house shoes(those hospital floors get very cold) and clothes to wear when visitors come, and clothes to wear once you depart. It is a good idea to pre-wash all of baby's clothing, because his skin could be a little sensitive...try Dreft it is wonderful.

You should have a bag packed and ready to go right now!..You can deliver your baby 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after your due date..I just had my first baby 8 months ago and I had her 9 days early so I didn't have anything packed. And while I was there, I was making a list for my husband to go home and get the things I needed hoping he would get what I asked for..lol..And as for washing your babies clothes before they wear them..definately!. I use Dreft baby detergant and snuggle fabric softner..It's awesome! Don't put nothing on your baby that hasn't been washed yet. You never know where it's been and the babies immune system is up to par when their first born..Good luck and congratulations on your little one!

Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, house shoes, brush or comb, cosmetics, deodorant, camera, anything you plan to use to stay focused during labor. A complete change of maternity clothes or sweats. Warm socks, those rooms are cold. Don't bother packing a gown or a robe, use theirs and ask for a second gown to wear backwards as a robe. Outfit for coming home for the baby, magazines or books, especially a book of baby names if you haven't chosen one yet. An infant carseat (req'd by law).
Secondly pack about 2 weeks before your due date.
Thirdly, if it makes you feel more comfortable to wash even the new clothes then do so, because you're right......you never know who has touched them or sneezed on them and some of the sizing products use to keep the clothing looking fresh can be rough on baby's delicate skin.

Yes, wash the baby's clothes before you use them. You should have a bag ready by the time you are about 36 weeks because after that you could theoretically go into labour any time. Useful items to take to the hospital are:
A change or two of clothes
A nightshirt and/or robe that opens at the front (if you intend to breastfeed)
Warm socks and non-skid slippers
A book, game, music, things to help keep you occupied during labour
Candies and/or popsicles to suck on - they won't let you eat anything during labour
Clothes and diapers for the baby
An approved baby car seat - you can't leave the hospital without it

Definitely wash the baby clothes prior to putting them on the baby. The baby can have a real bad allergic reaction to the clothing. Use Dreft or another brand of baby detergent.
I packed magazines and some movies. Also take a couple of nightgown, warm ones. It's always freezing in the hospitals Ive been to. A change of clothing (I wore jogging pants) for your trip home.
Congrats!!
