one of the fire hydrants near my house exploded somehow so we dont have any running water. i dont have clothes clean for tomorrow and i still need to take a shower. do you think it would be ok for me to stay home from school because of it? i have no idea when the water is going to be turned back on, but even after its turned back on, its not going to be sanitary enough to take a shower in. will this be considered excused?

leogirl.. we got a paper saying DO NOT shower, brush your teeth, wash your hands, etc in the water for 24hrs after its turned back on. so even if it is turned back on in the morning, i wont be able to use the water.

you can believe what you want lizzar, i only have 6 pairs of jeans which ive worn and are in the laundry basket. besides the clothes thing, ive also havent been able to shower since last night. would you go to school or work without being able to clean your hair or body?

it depends on your schools policy on being absent, and if you have not missed much school this year. but i think it would be ok to take the day off due to not being able to take a shower and no clean clothes but do call the school and let them know why. but they still may give you a hard time because of it.

i would say no. my school most def. would not count it. not everyone takes a shower everyday. you aren't going to stink after one day. and i seriously doubt that there is not a single piece of clothing in your closet right now. if you must pull out a pair of jeans that were only worn once, spray some perfume on them and keep going. dress up for the day. dress down. whatever needs to be done. use water from a bottle to brush your teeth, or get to school early. if you are a girl, pull your hair back. a boy? lots of gel. if you have a bottle of water, pour a bit on a wash cloth and wipe off a little bit. use a baby wipe. a hand cleaning wipe. a moist towelette. if you have blonde or lighter colored hair, put baby powder in it like people used to do.
you have no clothes whatsoever besides jeans? no black pants, no sweatpants, no nothing? yes, instead of making an excuse i would def. go. you don't have any friends you could take a shower at their house if it is that important to you?

Here's a funny story... back in the day when I was in high school, I totally had a crush on this girl named Megan. I thought that she was hot, but I also thought that the way she wore her hair was goofy and she wore way too much make up. One day she came to school without make up and with her hair all straight. I thought she looked especially gorgeous that day, so it was the first time I had the courage to walk up to her and compliment her on her looks... she responded by scowling at me and telling me about how she overslept and couldn't take a shower or put on make up... so find the cleanest of your dirty jeans and hold your head up high... and maybe enough deodorant to cover up any stink. I very seriously doubt it. Do you realize how many students go to school everyday without taking a shower? millions! not everyone showers everyday. especially at your age. and you do have clean cloths. i bet if you look in your closet right now there are 20 or 30 things hanging on there. you just don't want to wear any of it. Just suck it up and go to school. you may actually learn something

can't you go in late?
My son doesn't let not having clean clothes or a shower stop him from going to school. He just slaps some deoderant on and combs his hair and goes.

Well if you look dirty or smell bad the school will call your parents anyway. You might be sent home for the day.

I would give you an incomplete for all your classes. You will have water in the morning. You are only showering, not drinking it. Get over yourself and get to class. Your apparently a teenage,and most teenagers i know are very unsanitary.

go to someone house or hotel to take a shower.. i have to take a shower. i cannot go a day with out a shower. i have to wash my ********************. especially if you are a female.
