when are stretch marks more likely to appear i am thirty three weeks and i have not got any yet i use cocoa butter everyday...i have heard that it does not penetrate the second layer of skin where stretch marks occur but what are my chances of getting away with it??? sometimes my skin itches and mostly i ignore it!!! but sometimes i can't resist.

I do agree with how your skin type is...Its not genetic because my mom got hit by Freddie Kruger with her first one, lol, and I have very few on my "Belly" and this is my fourth pregnancy in 4 years. However, I did get stretch marks in other places like my boobs, butt, and thighs. I am now in my 33rd week. I hope that helps.

I highly doubt scratching your skin will make any difference with getting stretch marks. Just keep lathering the cocoa butter and you'll be good. Don't let your skin dry out is the number one key. And DON"T use aloe! I'm not sure about the actual lotion but the aloe gel is very bad regardless of what people say. It doesn't really moisturize as much as just hold in whatever is already there.

I think this is more genetic than anything else. I also used cocoa butter everyday and had stretch marks by 24 weeks. Usually your most belly growing period is 34 weeks and beyond. This is when your baby puts on his or her baby fat.

Just keep your belly well moisturized! I don't think it matters what kind as long as your belly is mousiturized. I have friends who swear by cocoa butter...

i had none until after my son was born! I lost weight rapidly and I ended up with stretch marks on my thigh when the baby was 2 weeks old.
Keep on with the cocoa butter, try vitamin E oil, shea butter... keep the skin moisturized so it's not so itchy.
Best wishes

Stretch marks are based on your skin and how it reacts. I had stretch marks from my boobs to my knees and used everything imaginable. A friend had NONE and used nothing.

stretch marks are just one of them things that you have no control over. if your gonna get them their is nothing that can help. I used pure vitamin e and stretch mark cream with both of my pregnancies and still got them.
