Piggies are capable of breeding at 17 weeks old. If they are not bread beyween 9 months and 1year old, there is a chance they will have a lot of trouble giving birth, or not able to give birth. Even at that it's not safe to breed them after 4 years old.

In many guineau pigs it is unable to tell what year of age is ideal.
Each guinea pig has it's own age.To me 1 year sounds about right. And remember each guinea pig has it's own time don't force it!Best wishes!
