It is utterly erroneous to think of nervousness as a simple or passing problem. It is a serious malady caused by mental disequilibrium. Negative traits like fear, anger, envy, hatred, etc. cause this imbalance. To make matters still worse, we have unrealistic targets, occupational hazards, cut-throat competition, letdowns in achieving bare minimum needs, difficult-to-meet family and personal goals, doubts in one’s own abilities, etc. All these cause stress and strain and lead to severe nervous disorders. Stress goes on to precipitate the negative traits in a vicious circle.

We, thus, unknowingly, build a cesspit of negativities and are entrapped in the quagmire of acute nervousness. Success in life eludes us; failures bombard us with uncanny frequency. This inner violence reduces the body to a wreck. No anti-depressant drug or tranquilizer can cure it, constraining us to only temporary relief.

The sooner we cure it, the better it is for our physical, mental and spiritual health. Only Yogis, the perfected beings, possess the state of perfect balance of nerves. When they had begun the spiritual journey, they too were ordinary mortals like us. The goal is not elusive. Therefore, begin by admitting and declaring that achieving an equilibratory state is your goal too. This goal is no wishful thinking, as you are inherently divine. You are essentially a Spiritual Being. Both physical and mental aspects face dissolution, not the divinity, the real you.

Spirituality has in its womb the solution for every human malady. But, it does not constitute just being good and doing good deeds in order to offset a prolonged streak of bad luck. That only embellishes the outer sheath. Its kernel lies in realizing the Spirit. Merely telling somebody that h/she must have firm belief in the Higher Power to get through problematic situations will not help much either. Realization of Self, the Spirit within, is required and becomes real when a spiritual guide manifests your inherent divinity. While doing so, he imparts to you the spiritual eye - the Christ consciousness center - to behold the real you, the omnipotent soul.
