Yes, Mexicans were slaves, but to other mexicans. When Spain took over Mexico and the Aztechs, they made the native people slaves. Mexican people are usualy a mix from Native Amerindians and the Spainsh. So, they were slaves for themsleves.

Before Spain came along, the Aztec people had slaves, other native tribes.

if you are asking is Mexicnas were ever slaves to Americans, no. In fact, many southen americans wanted to own slaves in Mexico, and the goverment would not allow it. That is why Texas became a aprt of the U.S.

NO. Mexicans were Mexicans and they lived in Mexico which was Texas and California New Mexico and Arizona. When the state of Texas was won by Sam Huston and others from Santa Ana it became a territory of the US. The state of California went over in a more peaceful method. Mexico has always been a country that is a neighbor to the USA, They were never slaves. Africans were brought here from Africa by the Spaniards who dealt in slave trade. Something the British outlawed.
Africans were sold into slavery by other Africans from rivaling tribes. Mexicans were Aztec Indians who are indigenous to the land. This is their Country just like the American Indian and the Tiano Indians of Puerto Rico and Cuba. The Spanish tortured the Indians and beat them. They used them like slaves but the Indians died from the diseases the Spanish brought. So the Spanish got African slaves to do their work. The Spanish raped and also intermarried later into the Mexicans and Puerto Ricans and Cubans. This is why we are Latinos.

I'll be broad about this.
There was a heirarchy in the old days.
Peninsulares (Spaniards from old country)
Creoles (native born spaniards)
Mestizos (Mixtures)
Mulattos (Mixed African/Whatever)
Africans (Slaves)
Indians (Well, they shared the bottom with the slaves)

Mestizos were primarily used in most cultures at the time to control the indians who farmed the land for the land tenants at the time. Since they weren't indians, but not quite 'pure blood' that was the highest they could attain. But that thankfully is no longer the case & anybody within can go as high as they want to now. (With some bribery of course) Mexico or Mexicans didn't exist until the 1800's.

Native Americans were used for labor by the Spanish in California, although I've never heard the actual word "slavery" used in conjunction with this socio-economic phenomenon. In my personal opinion, this was oppression. The Aztec and Incan cultures probably had slaves -- prisoners of war for example -- but I don't think the the northern European settlements were much involved in enslaving "Mexicans"; as with the slaves from Africa, the worst treatment of natives was probably at the hands of others of their own race.

Mexico only became a country in the 19th century.

Before that Mexico was a colony of Spain.

And yes, Spain did indeed have slaves in its colonies (although they outlawed slavery before the US did).
Spain used black slaves from Africa in its Caribbean island colonies. They probably used Native American (American Indian) slaves in what is now Mexico.

No but some of their ancestors were murdered by the spaniards.

Cortez was a pretty ruthless guy. Killed lots of people, destroyed lots of history.

Of course to be fair, our record was not spotless either.

Nodays lots of them work for "slave" wages in the States to bring money back home. Not quite the same though.

There were Asian, European, Mexican, Native American, and African slaves.

And any other nationality that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
