Dangerous Beauty, Casanova, The Princess Bride, Dangerous Liasons, Pride and Prejudice (the latest version), The Illusionist, The Three Musketeers, Valmont, Elizabeth.
Those are movies that I love...and have the same kind of feel like Montecristo.

I'd recommend Troy (2004) with Brad Pitt, Orlando Bloom, and Diana Kruger. It is basically an adaptation of Homer's epic The Illiad. It isnt like the story, but still very good. The movie recieved an Oscar nomination, 3 wins (top box office films, best supporting actor [peter o'toole], and choice movie actor [brad pitt] and 14 other nominations including best costume design, best fight, visual effects, and best original song.

Along with the others, don't forget The Scarlet Pimpernel. I'm talking the 1986 version with Jane Seymour and Anthony Andrews.

I agree with previous poster....Man in the Iron Mask and 3 Musketeers.....was not a big fan of The Musketeer though, way too martial artsy

That was an awesome movie...
The man in the iron mask with Leonardo Dicaprio....if you haven't seen it, it is alot like that one.
