how do you think the internet will be like in twenty years?

We should be seeing a lot more streaming media and the beginnings of real virtual reality in 20 years. However, if the political tides continue swinging against freedom of speech you'll not be likely to find the kind of information that's available right now. It'll be more like radio and television.

Imagine creating a realistically accurate 3D image of your present self, loading it onto a computing device, and virtually going for a little shopping from the comfort of your own home.

Try on any clothes / shoes to see how you look in it, using your artificial entity. Pay for it and walk out of the store onto a virtual street and into the coffee house across the street and meet your virtual friend, who is also hooked on-line from the comfort of her own home.

Thoughts will be mixed with the equivalent of substance of will so that thoughts (so long as decent and legal) materializes. Some of the first attempts will let people practice in the sky with the clouds.

I think it will be just like the population; overcrowded and even less intelligent.
