Using these two team rosters, which team has the advantage?

In this roster, the Avengers would fall because only IronMan, Thor and Scarlet Witch are their powerhouses and they would have to fend off Wolverine, Jean, Rogue and Storm with possible Colossus although he might be severely hurt from taking down Giant Man.
Thor would have his hands full with Storm and Rogue who work very well together while Ironman is battling Wolverine and Colossus although Ironman given enough time would take him down leaving Logan and him locked in battle and that would be a lengthy fight. Jean unleashing her full psychic blasts would disrupt Wanda's chaos magic and lend a hand to Logan and eventually depending on what armor IM has, he might deplete his energy. Again depending upon the version of his armor. Thor would be too busy with the ladies. Xmen win

If they were to square off, I would want to give this one to the Avengers. Unfortunately, however, the X-men would probably take this one. Very simply they are a closer team. They might not be doing the team thing longer then the Avengers, but they are (like the Fantastic Four) more like a family, and have closer binds to each other.
Ultimately the X-men are (believe it or not) less dysfunctional then the Avengers. Plus Hank knows many of the Avengers roster (having served with most of them on the Avengers) and this knowledge would help the X-men win.

actually this contest is over before it even began. It is senseless to give independant match ups because x-men are sorely outmatched by one name you put on the list.
The scarlet witch took on the ENTIRE marvel universe and WON in House of M.
It took her one second to re-write reality to her liking. The x-men wouldn't stand a chance. The x-men AND the avengers together with Dr. Strange (who is a match for 70% of the characters you mentioned except maybe Iron Man, scarlet witch and thor) were wiped out and re-written in her image in a second.
Pheonix and the x-men against her have no more chance against her than aunt may in a coma.
However without the scarlet witch and her reality altering powers All the avengers would need is Iron Man, Thor and the vision to take on all the x-men you mentioned.
And wolverine is now an avenger Tony Stark pays the bills and wolverine owes them more alliegiance than the x-men now especially since stark helped him when he wanted to find out who was behind the massacre that started the civil war (at least until the civil war ends then who knows what will happen).
the only powerhouse on that list is jean grey. The rest are maybe mediocre or the type that would be easy to defeat, but tough to kill (wolverine).
There is a reason why the avengers are "earth's mightiest heroes".
Besides hawkeye and jean grey are dead, quicksilver has no powers and gambit is dead too and I think rouge lost her powers. Thor is "missing" as they have seen his hammer and are bringing him back. He still has not officially returned however.
Iron Man is now also pretty much the most powerfull character (outside scarlet witch) on that list. He is basically able to heal like wolverine, and acess and control electronics with his brain even without the suit he is a force beyond what any of those x-men can handle. He can control his armor or multiple armors and tasks without him even bieng in it. Adding him to the list and the x-men face not only stark but an army of Iron Men. Every suit stark has ever developed including the ones that were a match for thor and the hulk.
The x-men stand NO chance and absolutely no chance if you include the scarlet witch (she can alter reality at will on a global or higher scale, she recently depowered 90% of all the mutants in the marvel universe by simply saying "no more mutants").

Unless you throw in Jean Grey's power as the Phoenix, the Avengers win just by havingThor in the roster, (this assumes the real Thor and not Eric Masterson)

THOR is A GOD and Captain America doesn't lose battles--plus the Black Panther is the craftiest person in the marvel Universe!

ok black panther vs beast, both agile and stronge but i would give it to beast
cyclops vs captain america, although i don't really like the cap his sheild could take anything cy could throw at him and cyclops is pretty weak otherwise
Nightcrawler vs Vison, good fight of no one hitting each other for a long time but i think vison could take this one
Gambit vs Hawkeye, they knock each other out with blasts?
Giantman vs Colossus, would be a good match, but i would say giant man would go down
Iceman vs Ironman, good fight also, but i don't think iceman could stand up to the ironmans weapons
Storm and Rogue vs Thor, it would be a good match up rogue isn't as strong as Thor and Storm not as good at weater but together, they would last a while but Thor is a god i think he woud win
Jean Grey vs Scarlet Witch, good fight unless jean is all superpowered, i will assume shes not, then i would say they might take each outher out in the fight
That leaves quicksilver and wasp vs wolverine, they would have him on his toe at the begining but he would eventually wear them down and take them out
so i would say the avengers would have the advantage, more so probally because thor could still fight for a while after taking out storm

relies upon on the X-guy and the approaches used. If Superman fought Wolverine, Superman might want to win if he fought at a distance (utilizing his warmth imaginative and prescient and some tremendous rocks, superman might want to actual render Wolverine subconscious). If the pair fought in close quarters, Wolverine might want to likely win (his claws might want to reduce deep into Superman).

man, hands down the x-men would whup the avengers *** three time before they could even blink. maby if you put the x-men against the justice league you might have a chance for a good fight.

This is a no-brainer, I'm routing for X-Men of course!!! I collected the comics in high school, and even named my son after one of them. Also, my husband has found some of my fav. comic episodes on disc, which he is getting for me soon!
