never mind, i figured it out
it's (2x-3)+(2x-3)+x+x=66
6x-6=66
6x=72
x=12

sorry but 12 IS the right answer, not 18 or 11, but thanks for the help!

Let the width be x.Therefore height is 2x-3
Therefore its perimeter=2(x+2x-3)=6x-6
=>6x-6=66
=>6x=66+6=72
=>x=72/6=12 ans

I am pretty sure it is 11 because then if the width is x and then the height is 2x-3. Then you multiply both amounts by 2 to get amount of all sides which equals 6x-6=66(the perimeter) and then add 11 to both sides to get 6x=66 and divide both by 6 to get 11. And since we used x for width and x is 11, then ................x=11

H=height
W=width

W=H-3 The formular for width
2H+2W=66 (Perimeter is 2 heights plus 2 widths)

Then just substitute. Plug in the W.

2H+2(H-3)=66
2H+2H-6=66
4H=72
H=18

Then u go back and substitute plug in 18 for H in the formula for width.

W=18-3
Width=15

Perimeter = 2w + 2h
h=2w-3
p=66.

Plug things in. Hope that gets you started.

2H + 2W = 66
2(W-3) + 2W = 66
2W - 6 + 2W = 66
4W - 6 = 66
4W = 72
W = 18

*****Check your math, in a step you added 2x + 2x and got 6x
