I'm enrolled in a program that allows for online classes and/or classroom instruction. While the online classes are convenient, I find that the level of work is quite a bit higher.

I don't know if professors feel that more work needs to be handed in to show the progress in online courses, but there's definitely a difference.

That being said, I know a number of people who have successfully completed online degree programs. I've found that it depends wholly on the institution you're working with and the subject you're studying.

No it is not hard as long as it's a decent school that has like a forum area, the real difference between on-line schools and other schools is that your really not in a "lecture" area to see and hear other peoples opinions and questions. But, anyone can pretty much accomplish anything if they are very set on that.

It depends on how discipline you are. Online courses take a lot of peronsla time and transfer them to computers. Your success will depend on how much time you are investing in the course.
If distance is a factor that it is understandable, or if your work does not allow you to attend class. My take would be attend at least 50% of the class and the other online. This way you don't burn out.

On the flip side, online courses are easier to pass than the normal classes simply because the vole of work is dependable on you.

If you are talking about going to school just online through an online college...beware. If they are not accredited and most aren't..nobody will hire you with that degree. If they take aide, they are accredited..if not, you are wasting your time. I did an online program and with only 3 classes left, found out it wasn't accredited and I couldn't use the degree. I would check them out VERY carefully. check with the dept of Higher Education if you have a doubt about their accreditation.
