Yes, there is a cheap solution! You can go to the court clerk's office and ask for a divorce package. Fill it out the best you can. On the Petition for Dissolution, you can name who gets what assets. File the Petition (there's a small fee of about $200-$350), have the Respondent served and you'll be on your way. If something is lacking in the paperwork, you will be notified via mail and they will send you the paperwork back so that you can fill in the missing info.
If you take a look at the Petition and find it a little too intimidating, go see a paralegal. They can help you for a fraction of what an attorney would cost.

Sure, do the paperwork yourselfs, file it together and youll save loads. Since you both agree, just sit down and put all on paper, file it with the courts and then appear at court and answer some questions for the judge and then he levels his decision and since you two are in total agreement then there is no problem and the judges love these kind. Good luck and sorry

in some states like the one i live in you can go to the court house and get a do it yourself divorce kit, it will walk you through the whole thing step by step and then you only pay a filing fee plus the cost of the packet. hope this helps and sorry it didn't work out.

I got divorce papers from the library. They were in a book and they just copied them for me. We ended up not going through the divorce, so I don't know about all of the fees and stuff.

You can get Divorce Agreement forms from Office Depot and call your local Circuit Court Clerk's Office to see how much it is to file.

Yes, contact a legal mediator. It is basically someone to help you with the legal documents and to quickly sever your ties. If you have already separated your property in "his and hers piles" should be a speedy, cheap process. Good Luck!

Sadly no...if property is in both your names and is jointly held then you more than likely will have to sell and split the proceeds. It sucks but when you divide the marriage you have to divide the assets as well...good luck to you both!

Now days you can get all the information you need on the internet, print it out and then it has to be notorized with both your signatures and file it yourself. My lawyer told me that.
