Twice - one good, one bad, about 20-odd years ago. Want to hear about it?

The bad trip was really weird. We'd been been out early morning for hours roaming the fields picking fresh mushies out the cowpats etc. and gathered up hundreds of 'em. When we got back to my house we spread 'em out on newspaper - but there was so many I grew impatient and just grabbed a huge handfull and boiled 'em up in a teapot. The resulting liquid was like tar, and tasted awful. But down it went anyway.

Neither of us had had anything to eat that day, which was probably a bad idea. But, on the way up I couldn't stop going up and eventually went into orbit. Then I started freaking out at Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (which was on TV), and started complaining of not feeling quite right.

My mate got me to drink glass after glass of tepid water and salt to make me puke, but it was too late and it didn't work - I was 'gone'.

For the next good few hours I went vacant, totally silent, thoroughly paranoid and unresponsive - unable to make any decisions - and having no fun whatsoever.

Eventually I came out of it but nver really fully recovered from the experience. Even nowadays, I can't watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang without suffering a flash back of how bad I got.

OK - now the good one.

Was in a mates house drinking lagers and smoking the blow, we also had some speed and went to the pub for more booze and to laugh at the students.

Got more booze and went back to his place where we had more dope and speed. Then he suggested we try the mushies as well.

I recall watching the beginning of a movie where they could tape people's experiences and play it back into your head - but don't remember seeing the end of it as I was too busy staring at the corner of the room where a diamond shaped see-thru' grid had appeared between me and the walls. That was fun.

But the best bit was lying face down (like a star, with arms and legs spread out) on the carpet and hearing God tell me, "No Robin, it's OK. It's not your time yet. Back you go."

The thing about that is I'm not religous and didn't even believe in the existence of God, having already discovered that it was just a man-made concept used to keep society at bay by creating all these daft rules such as marriage, etc.

But I digress. I still don't believe in God, yet definitely heard "Him" say exactly the words I quoted above.

Now that was a trip. Woohooooo.

Tell me about it!!! I ve just read the life story of Dr Tim Leary the person who put LSD on the MAP. If you are intrested the book is called "I HAVE AMERICA SURROUNDED - THE LIFE OF TIMOTHY LEARY".

Yes. Yes i have. It was fun. But you shouldn't do it on purpose. I'm not saying be a puritan, but at least be sensible.

You only get one life, so live it and do all that sort of stuf, but you only get one brain so don't break it.

Balance the long term with the short term.

Two guys who I knew growing up were into Acid and you want to see the state of them now.

They have a pure vacant look in their eyes,they arent on the ball at all and I'm sure it made one of them prematurley baldy.
