I don't think you can ever get your money back. If it were me , I would just call it a "long , hard lesson learned", and chalk it up tp experience. I would not give her any more money, or trust her again either. If she is still in your life, you need to get rid of her immediately. She is not to be trusted, and is bad for you. You can take her to small claims court but you better have proof of the transaction otherwise its going to be your word against hers, and knowing he lying background,shell deny you gave her anything so youll need proof. Good luck

I think that has happened to a lot of us at one time or other. I say cut your losses and just consider it a very bad investment but do not get suckered like that ever again...consider it a very expensive lesson.

The key here is if you told her it was a loan and of course it would be legal if you had it in writing. If not, then you're out of luck as it's your word against hers.
